Establishment & Operations

CIES was formally endorsed by the Human Resources and Training Management Committee Meeting No. 1/2024, held on 17 January 2024, and subsequently received official approval for its establishment.

The Centre commenced full operations in February 2024. Its management and administration are placed under the patronage of Dato’ Professor Dr. Mohd Farid Ravi Bin Abdullah, Vice-Chancellor (VC) of UIS, and is led by Dr. Muhammad Yusuf Marlon Abdullah, Director of the Centre from the Department of Da’wah and Usuluddin Studies (JDUS). In addition, several distinguished academics from the Faculty of Islamic and Intercultural Studies (FPPI), as well as from other faculties and external institutions, will be appointed as Fellows of the CIES Centre.
